Now, I’ve been here for about 24 hours now, the heat is not as unbearable as one might think, I was actually able to sleep last night… the island itself is quite beautiful, the birdlife is spectacular!
So far everything went really well, we (that is Immy, April and myself) had pancakes for dinner last night and are settling quite well in the apartment, mincing about and getting used to each other, figuring out how the place works. Funny enough, I left an apple out on the counter last night, thinking it’s gonna be alright for one night, and then let out a little yelp this morning (whilst on the phone with my mum, scared her to death… J) when I discovered that a mouse had munched a substantial bit of it… suppose that’s gonna teach me to leave things lying about…
The plane touched down in Vieux Fort on the southern tip of the island, and we drove up towards Dennery, the little village where we are staying in my new favorite toy, see photos… By tomorrow, there are gonna be four of us here, which means that we should be able to start work by the end of the week. At the moment I’m trying to acclimatize and cram information about the island and the projects into my head, slowly wrapping my head around the fact that I’m about to start work on a few really exciting projects in the tropical paradise that is St. Lucia.
