Hello everybody!

Guess what, guess what, guess what!!!!!!!!! The van is back!! Oh yes, it’s true, after more than 4 months we finally got it back! I still can’t quite believe it, which is why I immediately proceeded to take a picture of it this morning… Also, I took another few pictures of my room and the view from it and the balcony, kind of revisiting the first ever pictures I took of the apartment. It survived us quite well so far.

Having the van back meant that Matt invited us out for dinner yesterday, and we had a blissful evening at the Foxgrove Inn, very nice indeed. Hopefully there will be a few more of these ventures in our remaining time on the island.

Hope you guys enjoyed the photos of the carnival, it really was quite spectular to behold the various costumes, or sometimes lack thereof… The streets of Castries were transformed into one big party-ground, there were stalls everywhere, selling food, cold drinks and souvenirs, and each float came complete with an army of people dancing behind or on it. Some of the more elaborate costumes were actually carnival bands from Martinique as well as Guadeloupe, apparently their emphasis is more on costumes than wearing as little as possible… I know I keep going on about this, but seeing someone whine in the middle of the street whilst clad in, well, underwear, really, it was nice to have it seen once, but that’s about it. Definitely worth doing once for the experience though, it’s loads of fun to watch people going crazy like that.

Anyways guys, I am sorry but I’m just gonna have to dash out now, we’re going to go to the movies in the landrover!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully you’ll understand that nothing’s keeping me inside right now…
